Melania Trump's Plane Returns To Military Base After Smoke Fills The Cabin

First Lady Melania Trump had a scare as she traveled to Philadelphia, where she was scheduled to meet with the families of newborns who are suffering from neonatal abstinence syndrome. Just minutes after taking off from Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland, the reporters on the flight started to smell something burning and the cabin began to fill with smoke.

The flight crew handed out wet towels to members of the press who were on board, and the plane immediately returned to Andrews Air Force Base with a "mechanical issue." After the aircraft landed safely, Stephanie Grisham, the First Lady's spokeswoman, said that "everything is fine and everyone is safe," adding that more details about the incident would be released after the plane is checked out.

The First Lady continued on her trip shortly before 10 a.m. on a second aircraft.
