An urgent recall has been issued for Yellowstone Brown Sugar Molasses Baked Beans due to the presence of undeclared soy, which poses a life-threatening risk to individuals with soy allergies. The recall affects 4,515 cases of the product distributed across 23 states, including Arizona, Florida, and New York. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall on May 2, urging consumers to return the product for a full refund.

Manufactured by Vietti Food Group in Nashville, Tennessee, the beans are sold in 15-ounce cans with a best-by date of February 17, 2028. The cans feature a black label with a large yellow "Y" and an image of beans cooking in a saucepan. Despite the recall, no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported so far.

Soy is a common allergen that can cause severe allergic reactions, including anaphylaxis, in sensitive individuals. The FDA emphasized the importance of returning the product to prevent potential health risks. Consumers can contact Vietti Food Group for more information about the recall.

This recall follows several other recent food recalls due to undeclared allergens, including Frito-Lay's yellow corn tortilla chips and Quaker Oats' pancake mix, highlighting the ongoing issue of allergen labeling in the food industry.
