The Texas Longhorns retained the No. 1 overall ranking in the Associated Press Week 8 Top 25 College Football Poll released on Sunday (October 13).
The Longhorns defeated arch rival Oklahoma, 34-3, in the annual Red River Rivalry Game, the first as members of the Southeastern Conference, on Saturday (October 12). Oregon moved up one spot to No. 2 overall following its 32-31 win against Ohio State, who fell two spots to No. 4.
