American basketball player Jimmer Fredette, born on February 25, 1989, in Glens Falls, New York, has had a diverse career, transitioning from traditional basketball to 3x3 basketball. Fredette, who began playing basketball at a young age, was a scoring sensation at Brigham Young University (BYU) and played six seasons in the NBA before finding success in 3x3 basketball.

Fredette's basketball journey started in high school, where he became a standout point guard at Glens Falls High School. His senior year saw him average 28.8 points per game, finishing his high-school career with 2,404 points, making him one of the all-time leading scorers in New York state.

At BYU, Fredette became a prolific scorer, leading the nation with a 28.9-point scoring average during his senior year. His performance sparked 'Jimmermania,' and he led BYU to the 'Sweet Sixteen' of the NCAA tournament. Despite losing in overtime, Fredette received numerous player of the year awards, including the Wooden Award and the Naismith Award.

Fredette was drafted 10th overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2011 NBA draft and was traded to the Sacramento Kings. Despite a promising start, Fredette was unable to replicate his college success in the NBA. He played for several teams, including the Chicago Bulls, New Orleans Pelicans, and New York Knicks, before leaving the NBA to play abroad.

From 2016 to 2019, Fredette played for the Shanghai Sharks in the Chinese Basketball Association. He briefly returned to the NBA in 2019 with the Phoenix Suns but was released after playing just six games. He then signed with Panathinaikos in Greece, winning the Greek Basketball League championship in the 2019-20 season.

In 2022, Fredette transitioned to 3x3 basketball, a half-court game featuring two teams of three players. He led the U.S. team to victory in the FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup in 2022 and the Pan American Games in 2023. He also helped the U.S. team qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
